
Senior Technical Sales Manager

Nandina REM is creating new sources of advanced materials for manufacturing supply chains. We are an early stage company specialising in the use of deep tech and material science to recover and remanufacture critical resources, creating a rapidly developing market for low-emission circular materials such as carbon fibre composites and metals.
We’re looking for a Senior Technical Sales Manager who will lead the sales team, driving quality lead generation and securing new business by actively listening to customer pain points and strategically developing complex, innovative solutions for advanced materials in manufacturing across energy and aerospace industries. This critical role demands an innovation-first approach, requiring close synchronization with the circular product technology team to co-develop a strong material sales focus and a bold commitment to co-create groundbreaking solutions with our customers and cross-functional partners.

Key Responsibilities
1. Engineering-Led Customer Discovery and Qualification

Deep Technical Engagement & Active Listening: Lead initial discussions with prospective clients' engineering and R&D teams, employing active listening to not only uncover precise technical requirements and material specifications but also to deeply understand current advanced manufacturing pain points that Nandina REM's solutions can address.

Targeted Persona Review: Conduct targeted persona and account reviews in collaboration with Product and Marketing to validate ideal customer profiles (ICPs), ensuring sales engagement is laser-focused on the technical decision-makers and strategic buyers.

Contribute to Go-to-Market Strategy: Provide critical, engineering-driven market feedback and insights on customer needs, competitive landscape, and product positioning to inform and co-develop the Go-to-Market strategy for new and existing advanced materials.

Proactive Technical Qualification: Assess new business opportunities by rigorously qualifying the customer's technical readiness, resource availability, and alignment with Nandina REM's advanced materials roadmap, focusing on high-quality leads that present genuine material science challenges.

Generate Solution Insights: Champion the use of CRM and internal data to track technical interactions, identify shared engineering challenges across the target sectors, and generate insights to inform the sales strategy.

Align with Market Needs: Serve as the technical voice to marketing, ensuring campaigns and messaging effectively target prospects with specific, complex materials needs, facilitating a consistent flow of technically qualified leads.
2. Technical Sales Leadership and Co-Creation

Own the Technical Sales Cycle: Lead all phases of technical sales, including in-depth discovery, detailed qualification, technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and managing engineering-focused proofs of concept (PoCs) through to mass production scale-up.

Solution Co-Development: Partner directly with the circular product technology team and the customer's technical personnel to co-develop tailored, value-driven material solutions, ensuring the proposed innovation aligns with both technical viability and customer business outcomes.

Technical Deal Management: Manage the complex technical aspects of the deal cycle from qualification to closure, ensuring all technical terms, material specifications, and performance expectations are clearly defined and agreed upon.

Facilitate Grant Opportunities: Proactively research and facilitate the customer's submission for co-innovation and supplier development grants that fund the joint development and adoption of Nandina REM's advanced materials.
3. Technical Bridge and Product Adoption

Cross-Functional Technical Liaison: Act as the primary technical bridge between the customer's engineering and procurement teams and Nandina REM's product, operations, and technology teams, ensuring seamless alignment on material performance, delivery, and integration.

Drive Technical Adoption: Provide in-depth technical consulting and training for partners and customers, aimed at successful integration and adoption of Nandina REM's advanced materials within their product development and manufacturing processes in the Oil & Gas, Drones, and AI Infrastructure sectors.

Continuous Technical Feedback: Capture and channel comprehensive technical feedback from customer interactions back to the product technology team to inform the continuous iteration and improvement of Nandina REM’s circular materials portfolio.
Qualifications:

Proven 7+ years in solution architect, pre-sales engineering, or technical sales roles.

Engineering or technical educational background, either diploma or degree qualified.

Proven communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Proficiency in CRM Platforms and G-Suite solutions.

Demonstrated willingness to utilise AI tools to strengthen analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
