Key Applications

Aerospace

Lightweight, heat-resistant parts for interior components and housings

Medical Devices

Sterilisable surgical tools, dental equipment, and housings

Electronics

High-performance insulators, sockets, and casings for precision electronics

Ultem is synthesized through a polycondensation reaction, forming a high-strength polyetherimide resin.

01 | Polymerisation

The resin undergoes purification to remove byproducts and is pelletised for ease of transport, storage, and downstream manufacturing.

02 | Purification & Pelletisation

Pellets are melted and shaped into precise forms using injection moulding or extrusion, depending on the application.

03 | Injection Moulding & Extrusion

Final parts can be sterilised via autoclave, gamma, or EtO methods, making Ultem suitable for medical and high-performance use.
