Business Development Manager

Location: Southeast Asia, preferably Malaysia or Singapore

Nandina REM is creating new sources of advanced materials for manufacturing supply chains. We are an early stage company specialising in the use of deep tech and material science to recover and remanufacture critical resources, creating a rapidly developing market for low-emission circular materials such as carbon fibre composites and metals.
 

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead the commercial growth of Nandina REM’s sustainable materials across multiple industries.
 

In this role, you will drive market adoption of our innovative reprocessed materials by identifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing strong relationships with customers and partners. This includes working closely with our product technologists to deliver bespoke solutions that meet customer specification requirements across several key sectors.

Please note, candidates must have the legal right to work in their jurisdiction of hire. Nandina REM is unable to sponsor local work visas for this role.
 

Key Responsibilities
 

Business Development & Sales Strategy:

  • Drive business development efforts to promote Nandina REM’s sustainable materials to multiple industries, including aerospace, automotive, high performance sports and others.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to secure new clients and drive revenue growth, with a focus on achieving sales targets and increasing market penetration.

  • Provide internal sales management and reporting, e.g. set and achieve sales targets, track sales performance, provide regular sales forecasts, and prepare detailed reports on business development activities, customer feedback, and industry trends.
     

Customer & Partner Relationship Management:

  • Identify, cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders, including with OEMs and sub-tier suppliers..

  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and ensure that Nandina REM’s sustainable materials align with their product specifications and sustainability goals.

  • Conduct ongoing market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, material pricing, and availability across sectors.

  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships.
     

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work with the internal stakeholders to ensure that material delivery schedules and quality standards align with customer commitments.

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of customer orders and meet contractual requirements.


Skills & Experience

  • At least five years experience in business development, sales, or procurement within manufacturing industries, with a proven track record of securing new business, managing client relationships, and achieving B2B sales targets.

  • Ability to develop and implement effective business strategies for new customer acquisition, material commercialisation, and market expansion.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively, and advanced interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.

  • Ability to engage with technical information as part of commercial discussions and negotiations with both specialist and non-specialist stakeholders, understanding and communicating the applications of advanced reprocessed materials in various industries.

  • Demonstrable understanding of requirements and operations in the aerospace, automotive and/or other relevant sectors.

  • Fluency in English.
