New facility establishes a regional source of traceable, aerospace-grade carbon fibre, strengthening supply resilience for advanced manufacturing amid rising global demand

SALIS introduces market-ready circular fabrics and innovative textiles reprocessed from end-of-life aircraft, including a limited-edition Singapore Airshow collection launched in partnership with Experia

Singapore - 4 February 2026 - Nandina REM, a Singapore-based materials innovation company unlocking new feedstock sources for traceable, aerospace-grade carbon fibre, today announced its carbon fibre production facility. This marks Nandina REM as Singapore’s first commercially scaled carbon fibre producer, and the only aerospace- and defence-grade carbon fibre producer in Southeast Asia.

A First for Singapore - and Southeast Asia

Located at Tai Seng Exchange (TSX), the facility integrates custom-engineered production lines with advanced quality testing to deliver uncompromising fiber integrity and performance for advanced manufacturing applications across aerospace, defence and energy. By localising production and moving beyond conventional industry models, Nandina REM provides regional manufacturers with faster, more reliable access to aerospace-grade carbon fibre, reducing dependence on strained overseas supply chains and accelerating speed-to-market.

At a production capacity of five tonnes per month, the facility can support the manufacture of approximately 120–180 Group 3 drones or 5,000–8,000 Group 1 drones on a monthly basis, depending on design and specification.

Karina Cady, Co-Founder and CEO, Nandina REM, said: “This facility marks a fundamental shift in how the region’s advanced materials are sourced and supplied. Establishing a trusted, local source of aerospace-grade carbon fibre in Singapore creates a faster, more resilient supply pathway for manufacturers at a time of unprecedented global strain. Our model shows that advanced materials recovery can scale with the speed and reliability modern manufacturing now requires.”

The facility builds on Nandina REM’s growing commercial traction, with active partner engagements across multiple industrial applications and stages of the value chain. To date, the company’s activities have diverted material equivalent to approximately 280 tonnes of CO₂e into new manufacturing pathways, working with partners including Qantas, Emirates, Southwest Airlines and Sumitomo.

Addressing a Global Carbon Fibre Supply Crunch

Founded in 2024, Nandina REM was established to address a growing paradox in advanced manufacturing: surging demand for carbon fibre alongside tightening global supply. The company debuted the world’s first circular aerospace-grade carbon fibre at the Singapore Airshow 2024, demonstrating how end-of-life assets can be transformed into new sources of high-performance material.

As demand continues to rise across aerospace, energy, and defence applications that rely on carbon fibre’s lightweight strength and performance, the global carbon fibre market is projected to reach US$17 billion by 2035. However, supply is not expected to keep pace, with demand projected to outpace available capacity by nearly two to one.

Rather than relying solely on traditional production lines, Nandina REM unlocks value from thousands of retired aircraft and other highly-engineered assets worldwide,  transforming this underutilised stock into a strategic reserve of high-value, aerospace-grade carbon fibre.

Using its proprietary Rapid Production™ process, Nandina REM produces carbon fibre that meets stringent performance requirements for aerospace and industrial composites. Unlike high-heat reclamation methods that often degrade fibre integrity, the process delivers verified carbon fibre aligned with key performance benchmarks, including composite compatibility and aerospace-grade requirements.

The approach uses 71% less energy than virgin carbon fibre production and reduces material lead times from around twelve months to as little as two, by bypassing new plant build-out, precursor lines, and lengthy certification pathways. This enables faster, more reliable access to advanced materials for manufacturers seeking resilient, closer-to-market supply.

SALIS Launches at the Singapore Airshow

At the Singapore Airshow 2026, Nandina REM also marked the official launch of SALIS, its textile arm transforming end-of-life textile materials from often-overlooked sources - including aviation interiors - into refined, market-ready fabrics designed for modern industrial and commercial applications. SALIS is backed by globally recognised standards such as the Global Recycling Standard (GRS) and OEKO-TEX®, supporting responsible sourcing and ESG compliance.

As part of its debut, SALIS has partnered with Experia on a limited series of event merchandise celebrating the show’s 10th anniversary, showcasing how recovered aviation materials, including textiles and aluminium, can be re-engineered into durable, high-quality products for everyday use. Prices range from SGD 15 to 79, and will be available for purchase from 3-8 February at the Captain's Den (Hall A - G02), with limited quantities produced exclusively for the Singapore Airshow.

Allison Nam, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Nandina REM, said: “At SALIS, our focus is on extending the life of  retired materials so they can support new design and application possibilities. Through precision engineering, creative blending, and trusted partnerships, we bring these materials back into circulation while preserving performance and durability.”

Nandina REM will exhibit at the Singapore Pavilion (Hall A – B09) in partnership with SL Metals.
