Product Technology Intern

Location: Singapore

Department: Operations

Nandina REM is creating a new circular aviation industry. We are a high growth start-up in a rapidly developing market of low-emission critical materials for the energy transition. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Product Technology Intern to join our Operations team to assist in optimising the recovery process of the carbon fibre from various composite materials including the management of the waste generated from the recovery process. You will also gain exposure to the redeployment process of other materials and components at the end of their life, such as metals, plastics, and textiles. 


Please note, candidates must have the legal right to work in their jurisdiction of hire. Nandina REM is unable to sponsor local work visas for this role. 

Qualifications Required:

  • Enrolled in or recent completion of a degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.

  • Foundational understanding of composite materials, with a focus on carbon fiber.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Python, or equivalent).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

 

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies.

  • Experience with material testing or quality assurance processes.

  • Knowledge of sustainable product design and innovation principles.

  • Exposure to CAD software and product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Assist in the analysis, testing, and rapid prototyping of recycled carbon fiber materials to meet stringent industry standards and customer requirements.

  • Data Analysis: Support the collection, organization, and analysis of material performance data to provide actionable insights for product enhancements and innovation.

  • Technical Documentation: Create and maintain detailed records of testing results, process workflows, and product specifications.

  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business development and external research institutes, to identify and implement product and process improvements.

  • Innovation Support: Contribute to brainstorming sessions and support the development of new industrial and consumer applications for recycled carbon fiber.
